Texas' Leading Craft Brewery Secures Six Prestigious Medals Across Multiple Categories
Shiner, TX (May 16, 2025) – The independent, family-owned Spoetzl Brewery proudly announces its impressive performance at the 2025 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA), the world's largest annual beer competition, securing six medals across various categories. Notably, Texas Special, a premium domestic beer that the K. Spoetzl Brewery introduced in February of 2025, won its first award, a truly noteworthy achievement showcasing both its quality and the brewery’s continued commitment to excellence.

The Australian International Beer Awards is the largest annual beer competition in the world,judging nearly 3000 entries from over 400 breweries and 21 countries each year. Thisachievement brings Shiner Bock to 24 medals total since 1999, Shiner Beers to 94, and, whenincluding Texas Special, an impressive overall of 96 awards.

The K. Spoetzl Brewery was founded in Shiner, Texas (population 2,127), in 1909, by Czech and German immigrants brewing beer with old-world traditions and recipes for South Central Texas. Since then, the brewery has grown to be one of the largest independent craft brewers in the country with beers available in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and U.S. military bases around the world.
